Tohill returns to “special” Loheac

Ireland’s only FIA European Rallycross Champion, Derek Tohill, will continue his first season in the headline Supercar division in the inaugural FIA World Rallycross Championship at the eighth round in Loheac, France next weekend.

Tohill has had a year of mixed emotions so far in 2014, but has proven strong pace at a number of events and is hoping to show good progression at Loheac, an event that favors the local French specialists of which there are 15 in the 37 strong field. In 2013, Tohill cemented his position at the top of the European Rallycross TouringCar Championship on his way to a second title with a dominant to victory in front of almost 80,000 spectators at the famous French venue.

Carlube’s Multi-Vehicle Manual Transmission Fluid’s

After five years’ development and almost half a million miles of road testing, Carlube have launched a new product to complete its range of universal transmission fluids.

Thanks to the launch of Carlube MTF-U, for the first time ever, garages will only need to stock six different types of gearbox oil to cover a huge 97% of the UK's cars.

Manufactured by the UK’s largest independent oil blender, MTF-U comes in two different viscosities - 75W-80 and 75W-90 - and has been tested in the most extreme conditions, in both Carlube’s Research and Development Centre and on the road.

Carlube launches DCT-U, a universal transmission oil for dual clutch gearboxes

One of the unexpected side-effects of the rise in popularity of dual clutch gearboxes is a growing demand for appropriate transmission fluids. Unlike manual transmissions, which are filled for life or only require their oil changing if there is a mechanical issue, dual clutch transmissions typically require an oil change every 60,000 kms in order to avoid premature wear and a deterioration in shift quality. Ever more models are available with these sophisticated gearboxes, which can give both better acceleration figures and fuel consumption than either traditional manual and automatic transmissions, but this can require businesses to stock many different types of fluid to ensure compatibility. With Carlube DCT-U, this is not necessary as it meets the needs of 90% of the wet dual clutch transmission market.

British Superbikes Superstock 1000: Oulton Park

With almost 60 international riders entering the British Superbikes Superstock 1000 race, it is without a doubt one of the most respected and competitive series in the world. Sam West riding the 'Carlube/Water Lane Physio' Kawasaki ZX10R was looking forward to a good race at his home track Oulton Park, Cheshire. He always performs well at the circuit having taken many wins there on a range of bikes, last year Sam was fastest in the wet and had quietly hoped for similar conditions this year, but the sun shone strongly throughout the bank holiday weekend and conditions stayed excellent.
